What really matters on hardpack
When You tip a ski on edge, two factors become decisive:
- Torsional stability – how well the ski resists twisting.
- Stability under pressure – how calm the ski remains as speed and load increase.
If torsional stiffness is too low, the edge cannot hold evenly along its full length. If longitudinal flex is too soft, the ski becomes unstable at speed.
This is not a matter of taste. It is physics. Precision results from the balance of these characteristics.
SELECT 6X – reference on piste
The 6X is the central reference for piste-focused skiing at ORIGINAL+.
Its geometry is designed to balance edge grip and stability in a controlled way. The ski remains precise on firm snow and composed as speed increases.
The goal is not maximum aggressiveness, but controlled precision.
The 6X is available both as the SELECT version of the upcoming season and as the NOW version of the current season. Both versions offer three flex options per length.
NOW 6S – when edge grip becomes the priority
The 6S shifts the balance further toward directness.
With a narrower waist, it reacts faster to pressure and builds edge grip more immediately. It does not expand the range – it sharpens it.
For skiers looking for maximum precision on firm piste and who prefer shorter turns.
NOW 7 – more range on piste
The 7 remains clearly focused on groomed pistes while expanding the usable range within changing conditions.
With slightly more platform, it offers additional stability when the snow becomes softer or more uneven.
The priority remains the same: performance on piste. The usable range simply becomes larger.
SELECT, NOW or CUSTOM?
The model defines the character of the ski. The line determines how You get that model.
SELECT represents the upcoming season version of our models. These skis include small refinements and offer three flex options per length.
NOW offers the same models from the current season – with identical core construction and also three flex options per length. The difference lies mainly in the season version and a corresponding price advantage.
CUSTOM uses the same model foundation and adapts flex distribution, torsion, damping and setup individually for You through our ORIGO configurator.
- If You want the newest version, choose SELECT.
- If You prefer the same ski from the current season – with a price advantage – choose NOW.
- If the ski should be perfectly adapted to You, configure a CUSTOM ski.
The decisive question
Hardpack makes priorities visible.
Edge grip? Stability? Balance? The conditions define the demands. Your priorities define the ski.
But most ski days do not stay that simple.
