THE O+ CUSTOM TECHNOLOGY


The core technology behind the creation of custom skis is our ski configuration software, ORIGO. This software calculates the ideal, personalized ski configuration based on your individual data. Our ORIGINAL+ CUSTOM SKIS are then manufactured exclusively for you through a patented process, using single-piece production.

 

HOW DOES CUSTOMIZATION WORK – AND WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

What is customized? Description What does this mean for you? How is the customization done?
FLX LONGITUDINAL FLEX (Ei) The stiffer your ski, the more stable it is but harder to turn. The softer your ski, the more agile and easier it is to turn. Adjustment of the wedge thickness profile of the wood core; use of different types of wood (ash, beech, poplar, paulownia); different layers of Titanal, fiberglass, and carbon reinforcement.
TRS
 TORSION (Gj) The stiffer the ski in terms of torsion, the better the edge grip. The softer the ski in torsion, the more forgiving it is. Different thicknesses of the Titanal reinforcement; different thicknesses and fiber arrangements of the fiberglass and carbon reinforcements.
DMP
 DAMPING
 The stronger the damping of the ski, the smoother it rides and the less it reacts to impacts. The weaker the damping of the ski, the more lively it feels—reacting more quickly to both the skier's inputs and impacts. Use of different types of wood; different thicknesses of Titanal reinforcement; varied use of vibration-absorbing rubber.
TUN
 TUNING The sharper the edge angle, the more aggressive the ski reacts and the sharper the edge is. The flatter the edge angle, the less aggressive the ski becomes. The structure and finish of the base define the glide and turning characteristics.. Customer Selection: Every ORIGINAL+ ski is tuned specifically to the typical snow and slope conditions in the geoclimatic regions you define. Alternatively, you can choose your personal desired setup in the configurator.
 MSK WEIGHT
 Mass per se is neither good nor bad and is specifically defined by the intended use of the ski. The weight is the result of the respective individual ski construction.
COL
 DESIGN Currently, you can design your custom ski in various styles, and then build each style in your personal choice of colors. Additionally, you can integrate your name or initials into the design. Your ski design is created using a digital heat transfer process – you can choose from 2.1 million colors.
BDG
 BINDING SETUP You can order your ski with or without bindings. We offer a wide selection of bindings and binding plates, allowing us to further optimize your ski setup. Use of different binding plates, spacers, and binding types.


O+ SKI FACTORY BERGHEIM-SALZBURG

Every ORIGINAL+ ski is manufactured at the O+ Ski Factory in Bergheim near Salzburg. Our production facility is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and skilled ski builders.
