The ski materials
Every ORIGINAL+ base model is made for a certain playground and way of skiing that predefines the ski’s construction to a certain extent. After all, how a ski behaves on snow strongly depends on the materials it’s made of.
And still, every single ORIGINAL+ ski is unique, because your personal ski configuration is your ski’s DNA, determining exactly what’s inside your individual ski.
The ORIGINAL+ mod.9 generally utilizes the following materials:
The ski base
Sintered high molecular graphite base: World Cup standard for best gliding characteristics at all temperatures.
PTEX® 5000-Series Worldcup Base
ISOSPORT TT7700-series Worldcup Base
The wood core
The wood core’s shape and type of wood are decisive for your ski’s behavior and performance on snow. Poplar is lightweight, homogenous, impact damping; ash is tough, durable and elastic. balsa? By mixing different woods we can fine-tune the characteristics of your ski. Possible wood cores for your ski are:
Ash, or ash/poplar or balsa
Specially hardened and slightly wider for a long product life.
Viscoplastic, thermoplastic material. Combines high precision with good damping properties.
Innovative material mix of SIGRATEX® 50K carbon fabrics and technical flax fabrics BCOMP AMPLITEX®. This unique and exclusive construction combines the high-tensile properties of carbon with the damping and tough properties of flax. Ideal for skis that are extraordinarily lightweight and stable while offering high mechanical strength.
